Willesden Families is a free community guide. We keep data to a minimum.

What we collect

  • No cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
  • Visitor counts. To count visitors, your browser sends us the page address and the site you came from. We work out an anonymous ID from your IP address and browser type, mixed with a random value that we delete at the end of each day, so we can't recognise you from one day to the next. We don't store your IP address or put anything on your device for this. We also record your device type (phone, tablet or computer) and country, and keep these counts for up to 13 months.

Stored on your device

  • If you use the shortlist, the places you save are stored in your own browser, not sent to us. Clear them from the shortlist, or clear your browser's site data.
  • If you search by postcode or location, the result may be remembered in your browser to make the next search faster.

Other services your browser contacts

  • Google Fonts supplies the typeface, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
  • OpenStreetMap supplies map images on pages with maps.
  • Postcode and location searches are looked up with postcodes.io and OpenStreetMap Nominatim.
  • Some photos load from Unsplash and Wikimedia.
  • Links to venues, councils and maps take you to their websites, which have their own privacy policies.
